  1. I was skeptical before buying this laptop by seeing it’s rating but it’s best gaming laptop you will get. Trust me. Just go for it.But one thing is that this laptop heatsup and goes up to 95C don’t worry do underclock to -0.130v and turn off intel turbo boost that’s it everything works fine. To do this use intel Xtreme utility tool software see on YouTube.BEST FOR BUDGET GAMING.

  2. Awesome!! its a beast!! Must buy if you r looking for good gaming laptop with multitasking. I also use for design software workbench like ansys, solid works .Look- 5/5 vintage look with red back light keyboardPerformance- 4.8/5 it has 2.3 ghz processor , 4 core- 8 threads, nvidia 1050 ti graphics card, 60 fps monitorGaming- good for gaming, smooth operation at 100 fpsBattery- 3/5 while gaming u have to plug in laptop charger otherwise u will not get optimum performance.normal backup is ok,Cooling system- Quite good as it has nitrosenseSound quality very good, Camera okHard disk – You should buy 1tb + ssd hard drive for more boot speed. as with only 1 tb ddr4 hard disk it will 20-25sec take time to open laptop.but after that operation smooth.

  3. Games played till nowGta v : high (50 FPS)Witcher 3 : high (45-47 fps)And many other which worked fine I think you should go for it body feels plastic but a durable one, battery is fine but I never expected long life as it is a gamming one , remove bloatware for better startup speed, front camera is not very good but it can be used for video calling.I really liked this laptop but keyboard lights don’t change it can only be turned off or on.Looks cool not bright red instead brushed red which looks awesome . I advise you to get some kind of ceramic cover or plastic rapping so that it won’t get hand marks all over it

  4. This being my second laptop that I have bought I have had multiple thoughts on what to look after in a laptop. Jolted down what my needs were and what weren’t. Found many choices on the Prime day deals. Finally ended up with Lenovo Legion Y540 as this just fits all all my needs and right within my budget. Bought this on the Prime day for 62K after using Amazon Pay Credit Card. I was a bit worried when I ran into BSOD on the very first start can’t really blame Lenovo (hands down Windows) as that was due to a breakage in the audio driver that was getting updated in the background. Restart fixed it all.Pros -Better build quality. Yes, though this may not be made of Aluminum or Carbon Fiber esque body from the thinkpads but the sturdy plastic looks and feels amazing. I did carry this to the office, never was I asked if this was a gaming laptop as this looks a lot professional than fancy RGB lightings on the logo and the keyboards that the usual gaming laptops do. One other good thing, you could lift the lid with one hand.Display – The display is a Full HD IPS panel and supports HDR Streaming but not WCG. Slim / thin bezels around the display is brilliant to watch your content / creation.Audio – There are two speakers that are Dolby certified and did sound well. Can hear a bit of distortion as you crank up the volume. But yeah, DOLBY CERTIFIRD.Performance – No stutter, slow down, heating issues observed till now. The processor and GPU would still ask for more. Have tried a couple of games and Productivity apps found no lag or stutter and just breezes past through any task that you through at it.Keyboard – How often do you get a full-sized keyboard on a laptop when on a budget? Well this does. Though can’t compare these keys or key travel to those that of Thinkpad. Well these are pretty good keys to type and game faster. The user may have wrongly quoted on the RGB lighting part. No this has White light backlit keyboard.Cons -Nose Cam – We all remember Dell reverting the nose cams from XPS series to top of the display. It’s good that they thought of reducing the bezels around but, the cam is pure nose Cam. I’d rather not use this for Video Calls or Conferences.Weight – Yes. Not most would agree on this point. But most gaming laptops are heavier than this. But when in comparison to previous thinkpad this machine is a bit overweight. (Underweight for a gaming laptop though)I couldn’t have asked for any better laptop then this being within my budget. Yes, if you have a little more budget go for the next model which has 1660Ti and 9th i7 CPU with screen having better refresh rate and RGB Lighting or move to Y7 series I suggest which has premium build quality than this. Else wait for Helios 300 to drop its price, find a deal and get that if that suits your needs and if it is within the budget.Overall lot of pros and a couple of cons. Good purchase. The package was shipped as expected. Delivery was quick. I must say the time that I have taken or invested to finalize on a laptop has been fruitful. And I hope you would find this useful. Thanks.

  5. Bought this laptop during freedom sale under exchange of an old Lenovo laptop and a 10% instant discount for credit card. Listed price 74k, buying price around 64k.Specs & ObservationsProcessor: 9th Generation i5 Intel I5-9300H, 2.4 Ghz Coffeelake H 14nM, 4core, 8 threadsMemory: 8 GB DDR4 RAM 2666 MHz (Make: Micron) (HWinfo indicates two slots – 1 vacant – so it should be possible to upgrade memory)Warranty registration went smoothly.Display: 15.6-inch screen with (1920X1080) full HD display | Anti Glare technology | IPS display – TFT | 250Nits | 60Hz Refresh Rate – there was a discrepancy in the specs amazon has now corrected it after I reported. This uses a BOE manufactured a-Si TFT-LCD, LCM panel. Very decent viewing angle. Colour reproduction is pretty good. Brightness could be some more – I need to use this laptop in open area in daylight but not direct sunlight – for my purpose I would have preferred a brighter screen. Contrast ratio of the screen is just about 800:1.Side and top bezels are pretty thin. The webcam is located below the display often dubbed as a nose cam. This was introduced in earlier Dell-XPS models but was withdrawn due to negative feedback. Lenovo surprisingly has picked it up! We don’t use webcams these days – so not a problem really. he hinges hold the display firmly in its place and allow an opening angle of 180 degrees.Actual model is Monitor Name (Manuf): BOE CQ NV156FHM-N48Nvidia 1650 Graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 RAM. You do not see any on board graphics card listed in the device manager – probably disabled in bios. With this setting you may have trouble installing Linux (Ubuntu) as there are some driver issues for this card. Display is smooth, crisp and clear. I’m not a gamer – so cant talk about frame rates! You may be wondering why I purchased a gaming laptop! I need the specifications! This does not look a gaming laptop at all and has an elegant, understated look and feel. Comfortably you can use it in business!SSD 1 TB – yes – this was one of my reasons to buy – Solid state drive – Drive Model: SAMSUNG MZVLB1T0HBLR-000L2 – around 952 GB available to users.Motherboard: LENOVO LNVNB161216 – Intel HM370 (Cannon Lake-H) chipsetPorts: USB 3.1 C type – 1 in the rear; USB 3.1 A type – 3 ports – 1 in the rear and one on each sideMini Display port – 1 in the rear (used for connecting to a compatible projector, external monitor, or high-definition television)HDMI port – full size – 1 in the rear (HDMI2.0)Ethernet port – 1 in the rear RealTek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NICThere is no SD card slot.Power connector is flat type and is located in the rearSpeakers: two in the front. Audio is by Harman. Clear audio, of course as with most laptops with lack the punch / bass. Not too loud though, moderate volume levels. Dolby enabled.Headphone socket – single 3.5 mm socket on the left sideDimensions of the laptop14.4″ x 10.2″ x 1.02″ / 365mm x 260mm x 25.9mmBattery: 52.5Wh battery 3 cellsFull plastic construction but does not look or feel cheap. Top lid has a kind of matte finish that wont attract fingerprints.Typing is comfortable with a fairly large keyboard including a number pad. Though smooth fingers don’t slip. Key feedback is soft with a clear pressure point. Only white backlight for the keyboard that can be adjusted to two brightness levels – light & dark. The touchpad offers the fingers a comfortable resistance and allows in this way a precise navigation with the mouse pointer, and the dedicated mouse buttons (physically separated from the touchpad by a thin line) operate uniformly and with a clearly audible click noise. Unlike the keyboard, the touchpad doesn’t have any backlighting. While the touch pad has a smooth finish the mouse buttons are matte and have a rough feel.Lacks a right click key on the keyboard, instead that space is assigned to a gaming dashboard / screen capture key and a print screen key.Bundled software –OS is Windows 10 Home single language edition. Got activated automatically.McAfee live is preinstalled and has a one-year license. Does not hog system resources and is decent in identifying / eliminating potential threats. Lenovo vantage helps in keeping your device drivers up to date. I have updated windows to 1809 and stopped it there with setting my wifi to metred connection. I am not a fan of 1903 update that brings in a light theme. I’m not a fan of light theme.MS Office is a trial version that may work only for about a week before requiring you to obtain a license.Thankfully there are no other bloatware except the crap that comes with Windows 10.It weighs about 2.2 kgs but feels pretty light. The power adaptor is heavy! Battery life is decent – for browsing and watching videos it gives a life of around 3 hours at almost 85% brightness.Wireless is intel 9560 – this includes a 2 x 2 antenna & transmission and receiving streams. Supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands with a theoretical maximum speed of 1.73Gbps.Package includes a short SATA flat ribbon cable, which is required for the installation of a 2.5-inch drive. If you have any further queries, please comment.
